Chromed metal
Manufactured to protect vertical pump shafts from wear caused by sand, Caravel's chrome-plated metal bushings are available according to dimensions fully established by the customer and their external tolerances are perfectly adapted to the coupling with bearings with a rubber inner surface.
They are also made with negligible eccentricity that ensures optimal operation.
The materials used and covered with thick chrome are the most diverse in relation to the actual conditions of use.
Caravel chrome bushings act as a sacrificial component and allow significant savings on the cost of spare parts by avoiding the replacement of the drive shaft, which thus have a longer operating life and limited maintenance costs.
The chrome bushings are supplied with a chrome thickness between 0.06 and 0.3 mm with millesimal tolerance and negligible eccentricity, so as to work optimally both with the rotating shaft and with the metal and rubber bushings.
As with metal and rubber bushings, chrome bushings also require only water for cooling and lubrication.
The use of oils or other types of lubricants is not required.
Over the years, we have produced more than 5,000 different types of bushings for axes from 12 to 500 mm.
