Metal and rubber
Caravel metal and rubber bearings replace traditional oil-lubricated white metal bearings. They provide cooling through the use of water, with no need of dedicated lubrication systems.
They consist of a metal part (brass, bronze, stainless steel, iron, aluminum) and a nitrile rubber coating. Rubber lubrication channels can be axial, evolving or helical, with one or more principles, in relation to the rotation and size of the axis. The nitrile elastomers used are perfect for any type of application and provide the right elasticity, tightness and vibration absorption. More than 200 different standard sizes are available, ready in stock or can be produced in a few days. Caravel can however manufacture bushings for axes from 20 to 500 mm, according to the customer's specification or design, with internal axial, evolving or helical channels depending on the actual conditions of use.
Bushings made according to the tightest tolerances required: they can be mounted for interference and, where appropriate, blocked with simple set screws.
The disassembly is both quick and practical. Depending on the actual conditions of use and use, Caravel bushings can be made of the most diverse materials: non-ferrous alloys, steels, stainless or special steels, always coming from a certified chain of suppliers.
The bushing bearings are indicated for their ability to reduce or eliminate vibrations and noise, a fundamental feature for application on any type of boat or industrial machine where masses that are not perfectly balanced rotate.
With hydrolubricated bushings, you avoid using any type of oil or lubricating substance.
No harmful substances connected with the bushings are released into water.
Over the years, we have produced more than 5,000 different types of bushings for axes from 12 to 500 mm.

Standard products are always ready in stock and therefore immediately available.
We can design and manufacture bushings of various sizes and materials for large boats, hydroelectric and nuclear power plants, aqueducts, vertical and submersible pumps, wastewater plants and animal husbandry.

The evolving shape provided for almost all models favors a high pumping effect with a significant increase in the velocity of the fluid in the channels and an obvious advantage of cooling, lubrication and cleaning of the channels themselves. Thanks to the round profiling inside the bushing, the axis is supported and guided around its entire circumference, reducing vibrations to a negligible level.
