Caravel metal and rubber bearings replace traditional oil-lubricated bearings. They cool down the propller shaft or the pump shaft simply by water and no other lubrication system.
They are made of a metall shell (brass, bronze, stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminum) and an inner nitrile rubber coating. Rubber lubrication channels can be straight, involute or helical, in relation to the rotation and size of the shaft. The nitrile elastomers are the ideal solution for any type of application and provide the right elasticity and vibration absorption. More than 200 different standard sizes are available, ready in stock or can be produced in a few days. Caravel can however manufacture bearings for shafts from 20 to 500 mm, according to the customer's specification or design, with straight, involute or helical channels depending on the actual conditions of use.
Bearings made according to the tightest tolerances required: they can be set into their housing only by interference and, where appropriate, blocked with simple screws or pins.

Thanks to the round profiling inside the bearings, the shaft is supported and guided around its entire circumference, reducing vibrations to a negligible level.
