Bushings designed and specified by the customer, in two halves, certified by a third party
The customer asked us to prepare a batch of eight bronze bushings, preparing the design of the same. In view of the destination of the bushings, CRN's 80-meter superyacht Chopi Chopi, the bushings should have been accompanied by all the required technical documentation. The customer also asked us to calculate the appropriate tolerance with respect to the nominal diameter of the shaft and to calculate the water flow required for optimal lubrication and cooling.
Thanks to our 3D modeling software, we have created the constructive design of the bushings, calculating, as required, the water flow for safe lubrication and cooling, both for the propeller side bushings and for the shorter motor side bushings, where sometimes the flow itself can be limited. The order was then inspected and certified by Lloyd's auditor. All the required characteristics were confirmed: 3.1 bronze certification, elastomer certification, verification of the periodic calibration of the measuring instruments.
