The purchasing department managing the Vandellos nuclear power plant (Spain) has requested the production of a kit consisting of two flanged bushings with a standard S355J2G3 steel shell and an NBR rubber interior. The bushings, however, must be accompanied by a complete dossier with chemical composition, hardness tests, resilience and penetrating liquids. The traceability of the materials used and the casting as well as the quality standards required for the entire supply chain should have been certified by an inspection body designated by the customer.
Thanks to the experience gained over the decades and the ISO 9001 certification, Caravel was able to produce the required bushings thanks to the collaboration of ISO-certified steel and rubber suppliers. Caravel has always managed second and third type audits. The customer was able to receive the bushings accompanied by all the required documentation.
